Turning West off of Georgetown Road, you have the opportunity to drive a gravel road through the vineyard before arriving at the tasting room. We found the parking lot and tasting room full (always a good sign). They have an ample tasting bar and use the barrel room at the rear for overflow tasters (a requirement on this day). Tables are available both inside and out for those wishing to enjoy a purchased glass of wine, food, and music.

The tasting consisted of 11 wines (5 whites and 6 reds) - all were tasty. I'm picky when it comes to Chardonnay and their 2011 Old Vine Chardonnay was quite good! I picked up a hint of pear and a nice soft finish. (They also offer this in 1/2 bottles) The 2011 Late Harvest Traminette was very nice and one the hubby might enjoy as well (he not being a wine drinker, but does like an occasional port or dessert wine). The 2011 Petit Verdot, with hints of blackberry, was another favorite of mine.

Aside from their wine club (see their web site for details), they offer a barrel club. Once you purchase a barrel, it is engraved with your name and you spend the next four years tasting it's contents as it matures. At the end of the four years, your wine is bottled and you take the empty barrel home. Wine club members enjoy special tastings, exclusive availability, and food pairings at pick up events.

The vineyard produces Chardonnay, Viognier, Riesling, Late Harvest Vidal, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Ameritage varietals.

Private tastings will up your fee to $15.00 and groups of eight or more should make reservations.
