If you visit this winery, look for the state provided "wine tours" signs on Climax Road as the winery's signs are moderately difficult to see. Once you find the entrance it is a short drive to the tasting room. The simple exterior of the tasting room belies a beautiful wood interior. The wood comes from tobacco barns once used for the farm's previous main product. The screen encloses a large porch with ample seating (and rocking chairs!) you can use when you finish your tasting. Once inside you will discover a comfortable sitting area near a fireplace in addition to a traditional tasting bar.

Friendly staff tend to your tasting. On this visit their Viognier, Old Green Tractor (a blend of Viognier and Traminette), and the Cabin Sunset (strawberry) were quite nice. The Cabin Sunset was like eating a fresh bowl of strawberries. The Old Green Tractor blend is a nice "porch" wine, best served chilled and I picked up a hint of peach. Another interesting offing was their Shamraz - a Chambourcin with a touch of raspberry flavor - I found a hint of chocolate in this one.

There are picnic areas on the grounds around the tasting room if you want to bring a lunch. If you have pets though, best not to bring them to this winery.
