Granite Heights Winery

Granite Heights Winery
Last Visit:
September 2014

The property gives every appearance of a working farm and the tasting room is located in a barely converted farm house that dates back to the 1800s. Inside, the winery conducts seated tastings only at tables scattered between several rooms. Their light fare of bread, cheese, and salamis was particularly good.

The tasting consisted of 6 wines, all were pleasing on the palate. The 2012 Chardonnay was soft and fruity and I picked up hints of pear and grapefruit (someone else may pick up something different). Being the only wine drinker in the house (unless we have guests), I appreciate that some of their reds are available in 375ml bottles. The 2011 Humility was terrific and is one of their estate wines.

Aside from wines, they also produce jams and honey. Their blackberry-sage jam is quite good.
